I wasn’t happy with how my photos turned out from this weekend until I ran them through a plate solver. It identified 12 galaxies! 12 small blurs of light captured by my camera that we can’t even imagine what is there. Are they taking a photo of our dot of light at the same time I was taking a photo of theirs?
In this photo are IC4263, NGC5173, NGC5169, NGC5198, IC4284, IC4285, IC4282, IC4277, IC4278, IC4282, NGC5198, the original galaxy I was trying to see, M51 (Whirlpool Galaxy).
